Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Feedback in - Overall I haven't actually gotten an abundance of feedback yet. This is almost definitely my fault because I haven't been posting very many creative writing assignments so people don't have much to comment on. But the one's that have been posted are so encouraging! Words of affirmation is my love language so I have really enjoyed that portion of the class!

Feedback Out - Re-reading some of my comments was very eye opening. I am definitely very positive with my feedback which is great, but also I could definitely be a little more critical. I think if I were being a little more critical it would probably help my classmates get more out of them - it's just hard because I never want to discount the work someone has put into something!

Blog Comments - On this one it sort of depends - some people really come across in their introduction post. Just the way they write you can hear their voice! But other people keep it pretty basic with their interests and don't even post a picture with them in it! I actually think my introduction is pretty good and represents me and my passions fairly well!

Looking Forward - I think looking forward I want to be more critical and more lengthy in my comments towards others and more receptive to negative feedback myself. Maybe even make some of the suggested changes to the story that's being criticized. I really like my blog but I'm definitely going to try to be better about posting creative writing stories even though they make me nervous!

Infographic - I liked this infographic because active listening is something that is really important to me! I think it's so essential to not just listen to people but to make people feel like you're listening! Not only does it help you to remember information better, but it is a way to actively encourage someone you're talking to! Even if you don't agree with what someone is saying active listening allows you to acknowledge where they are coming from and gives you a better understanding of their points if you want to refute them! It's the best!
